Numbers 26:52-27:5

What struck me most about this aliyah was God’s pronouncement that “They shall die in the wilderness.” This seems like an incredibly harsh sentence after 40 years of wandering in the desert – was this the result of sin, as in the case of Zelophehad, or did they simply retain a mindset of slavery and would not have been able to appreciate the land of Israel anyways?

Joshua 10

The verse ‘The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I will deliver them into your hands; not one of them shall withstand you.”’ is so powerful to me – is this what emboldened Joshua to command the sun and moon to stand still?

Psalms 7

I didn’t have much to say on this psalm other than I found the contrast of the verse ‘God vindicates the righteous; God pronounces doom each day’ quite interesting.
